Give Us Your Topic Suggestions
What do you think would be a good topic on the site?
For example, member Hilaire requested to see more on the basics of setting trot and canter poles as well as lines and gymnastics.
As per her suggetion, we have created the following topics available on our site to date:
Judy Martin's Pole Exercises Part One
Incorporating Cavallettis with Fences as Developed by Bert De Nemethy
We also encourage our Guest Coaches to share their favorite gymnastic exercises, look for them in topics by Mandy Porter and Team Karazissis as well as upcoming coaches.
We want to hear from you! Please post your suggestions in the comments below by clicking on "Post a Comment" under the social network icons.
* Not all topic suggestions submitted will be made into videos. Equestrian Coach will consider the most relevant & educational topic ideas for potential videos.

Teaching lead changes to green horses
Would love a teaching video on this!
What calks to use on different surfaces
I would be interested to know what combinations of calks to use on the different surfaces we encounter, like hard dry grass, slick wet grass, wet sand, deep grass etc. Please discuss the reasoning for putting certain types of calks on the inside v.s. outside of the shoe, when to use front and back calks and when not to. Also, maybe some discussion on what some of the more extreme calks that I have seen are used for and any other interesting calk stuff. Thanks
caulks
We are filming a topic on this subject 7/4 and hope to have it up on the site early August.
OTTB
I would like to see videos on training thoroughbreds off of the track. Different flat work exercises and introducing them to jumping. Also things to improve their confidence over fences.
OTTB
I second this request!
OTTB
We plan on doing some topics on starting young horses jumping that will apply. In the meantime Fundamentals of Flatwork-Basic Level is chock full of flat exercises
The Perfect Equine Diet
What do the top trainers feed their horses?
Feed
Great suggestion and we will be doing a topic on exactly this soon
a full lesson, barn care and sports psychology
I would love to see a full lesson from some of the trainers. For example - what does a full Missy Clark flat lesson look like? What about a lesson with any top trainer in North America?
Also, what do top trainers do at home for horse care and why? Also as a working amateur who is also attempting to move up to the 1.30s, any clinics on focusing would be great.
This is a great site!! I have gotten many ideas of things to work on and I've only been on a week. Keep up the great work
pace
hi
i have trouble with my pace, i tend to slow down before the jump, exercises to improve my pace?

Lunging the Horse
How to properly lunge the showjumper. From baby to GP.
lunging
excellent suggestion and really needed. We will do this
Weight Aids
How to properly use weight aids. How to teach weight aids to your horse. How to combine them with rein and leg aids.
I would refer you to
I would refer you to fundamentals of flatwork Intermediate and advanced sections where they are all demonstrated in unison
Bert de Nemethy's Videos
I think it would be great if you could make the de Nemethy videos available again for everyone. There shouldn't be any more copyright on them. They cost about a 1000 dollars for 8 videos.
Also, more old footage of de Nemethy, Steinkraus, and Bernie would be appreciated. It is not easy to get access to that stuff if you don't have the right connections. :-)
Bert De Nemethy's Videos
Well I'm not sure about what possibilities exist to make Bert's videos more available but we can certainly pass along his teachings as we did in the cavaletti topic.
We do have some great footage of Bill Steinkraus and more of Bernie that we will be sharing with you soon. Stay tuned!
Awesome. Thank you very much.
Awesome. Thank you very much. I think it is great to see the old footage. Sometimes it is very disappointing, but in the case of Steinkraus, de Nemethy and Bernie himself, it is still very educational.
Maybe you could also do some kind of history topic of the oldies (Steinkraus, Chapot, Kushner, Shapiro, Fargis, Matz, etc.) looking back at their times and at modern times. That way you keep history alive for all the young people who don't necessarily know these people anymore.
Otherwise, keep up the good work.
Cleaning Up the Lead Change
Would love exercises to help clean up a late-behind lead change! :)
Cleaning Up the Lead Change
Thanks so much! We are working on some new Flying Change topics now and those should be out shortly. But in the meantime, if you haven't had a chance already, check out Val Renihan's topic on Flying Changes. That is a good exercise for that.
Take care!
Half Halt
I would like to see, demonstrated, different applications of the half halt.
