Having grown up in the Los Angeles area, Robin was always active, she began seriously perusing riding while at Camelot Riding Club under the expert instruction of Raizy Goffman and Mike Hebert.  After moving to San Diego as a young adult, she has continued her pursuit of riding as well as beginning a lifelong passion for nutrition and fitness.

Robin was accustomed to helping friends and co-workers to clean up their eating and get on track with their exercise. Though her career was in home-building, she was always everyone’s trainer on the side.   When the housing market crashed it seemed the perfect opportunity to leave her old career behind and do fitness full time.

Now, with her husband Dionicio Martinez, they own Blackjack Farm a beautiful and secluded 5 acre ranch in Vista.  Offering a very unique indoor/outdoor fitness facility, they have a well-equipped indoor gym, multiple permanent outdoor workout stations and a groomed running track. The fact that it’s also the home of their show horses makes it truly one of a kind. There is also a limited amount of room for people to board their horses, allowing them to enjoy the benefits of a horse facility and fitness facility all in one.

“Our desire was to create and maintain a place that would suit our two passions: horses and fitness.  By starting from scratch 3 years ago, we’ve been able to build a place that is perfect for people to reach both their riding goals and their fitness goals.  We have horse people who workout with us and fitness people who’ve started taking riding lessons.  It’s such a great combination!” says Robin.

The main focus for Robin’s clients is on establishing core strength and building a foundation of fitness.  As a competing rider herself, she uses that experience to create fitness programs geared specifically for equestrians, helping them gain the strength and mobility they need to be at the top of their game. Her style is positive, fun, encouraging and pleasantly tough.
